Key Responsibilities
The Account Manager II is responsible for managing and selling Renaissance Learning’s products and services within an assigned territory, achieving revenue goals through prospecting, new business, customer renewals, cross-sell, and up-sell opportunities.
- Manage opportunities by driving new business, cross/up-sell, and renewal opportunities proactively, engaging multiple decision-makers to ensure communication and agreement throughout the life of the opportunity.
- Grow assigned book of business to exceed revenue goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, increasing customer loyalty and retention while driving business value and expansion.
- Collaborate with Customer Success partners and members of the Account Executive team to develop winning solutions that bring value to both the customer and Renaissance.
- Stay current on trends, policies, and practices in the K-12 education space, including public, private, and parochial schools.
- Build rapport with customers based on factual accuracy, expertise across offerings, delivering on expectations, and proactively providing market insights.
- Utilize internal and external networks to increase opportunity value and drive revenue growth.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales goals and expand our customer base.
- Provide excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills, to effectively engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally for customer engagements, conferences, and other revenue-generating activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 4+ years of prior experience in sales, preferably in the education sector.
- Proficient in collaboration tools, such as Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
- Familiarity with CRMs and other sales technology, such as Salesforce or MS Dynamics.
- Knowledge of education customers, their organizational structures, and leadership personas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the K-12 education space, including public, private, and parochial schools.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in education sales, with a deep understanding of the K-12 education space.
- Demonstrated capacity for resourcefulness and strategic thinking in sales.
- Technical knowledge of common tools and trends in the ed tech space.
- Strong understanding of K-12 districts and school administrative roles, funding, purchasing process, buying cycles, policies, practices, trends, and school board oversight.
