As a Tax Analyst at AHU Technologies, you will play a crucial role in our finance team, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing our tax strategies. Key Responsibilities
As a Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and preparing variance reports. You will also perform research to understand the accounting consequences of alternative approaches and provide recommendations to management.
- Prepare and file tax returns for the company, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Analyze and reconcile accounts to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement
- Prepare and annotate variance reports to provide insights into financial performance
- Perform research to understand the accounting consequences of alternative approaches and provide recommendations to management
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including various federal, state, and local taxes
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and present financial data, identifying trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement tax strategies that optimize our financial performance
- Provide excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to management and other stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and legislation, ensuring our company remains compliant and competitive
- Maintain strong organizational and time management skills, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 2-5 years of experience in tax analysis or a related field
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including various federal, state, and local taxes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong data organization and analysis skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification or equivalent, preferred but not required
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with tax software and systems, such as tax preparation and compliance tools
- Knowledge of financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
