Key Responsibilities
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will play a key role in driving business growth and expansion. This high-impact role combines hands-on enterprise sales with leadership to scale revenue, expand brand awareness, and formalize the public-sector go-to-market engine.
- Lead and close complex enterprise SaaS deals within state and local government agencies
- Manage full-cycle sales efforts including discovery, demos, and proposal development
- Oversee and mentor a regional sales team (currently 3 sales professionals)
- Offload day-to-day sales management responsibilities from the CEO
- Recruit, onboard, and develop additional senior sales talent as the team scales
- Strengthen pipeline generation and brand awareness in partnership with BD resources
- Develop scalable forecasting, pipeline discipline, and revenue accountability processes
- Navigate government procurement cycles, contract vehicles, compliance requirements
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Customer Success to drive retention and expansion
- Utilize CRM and marketing automation platforms to inform data-driven decision making
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 8+ years of B2B SaaS sales and marketing leadership experience
- Minimum 5 recent years selling into state and/or local government entities
- Proven track record of building and scaling go-to-market engines in growth-stage companies
- Experience managing government RFPs, procurement cycles, and contract vehicles
- Full-cycle enterprise sales experience
- Leadership experience managing and scaling sales teams
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms
- Knowledge of government compliance requirements and regulations
